About This Item

Cathy's Journey of the Coffee Cup TB

RE-RELEASED AS A PROXY ON 11/12/23 AFTER THE ORIGINAL TB WENT MISSING FROM A CACHE WHERE IT HAD BEEN PLACED OVER A YEAR AGO.  THE ORIGINAL HAD TRAVELED OVER 19,790 MILES BEFORE IT DISAPPEARED NEAR SHREWSBURY, MASSACHUSETTS!!  THE PROXY CONSISTS OF TWO 2" x 2" LAMINATES ATTACHED TO A SHINY VIOLET-COLORED SCRUNCHY BAND.  ONE HAS A PICTURE OF THE ORIGINAL TB ON ONE SIDE AND THE TB’s CODE AND THE WORD "PROXY" ON THE OTHER SIDE.  THE OTHER HAS THE TB’s MISSION ON ONE SIDE AND INSTRUCTIONS FOR HANDLING TBs ON THE OTHER SIDE.

One of the famous achievements has seen a successful establishment of a real Central Perk at the heart of New York City. Located at 199 Lafayette St. at the corner of Broome Street, this iconic space features a coffee shop and a museum that is well documented with historical arrays of Friends Show’s props and souvenirs.

The museum is full of priceless pieces of art collections and items that were famously attributed to Friends Show characters such as Rachel, Phoebe, Monica, Chandler, Ross, Joey and Gunther. Every section is dedicated to one or more of these famous personalities. This will give you a chance to experience what it would have been like to actually hangout with these TV personalities that shaped up the lives of many people.

Those who started watching the show in the 90s will tell you what a pleasurable atmosphere this coffee shop stirs up when you actually get an inside experience.

It is important to point out the importance of the establishment of a real Central Perk coffee shop since thousands of followers have made several journeys to New York to locate it but to no avail. Having a real Central Perk for the common fan means that you will have a more direct experience of how it felt like to be in the shoes of the Friends Show superstars. It is also common to mingle with some of the living Friends Show stars who hang around the place at times. This will provide you with a rare opportunity of taking memorable photos with these renowned actors in their natural habitat.

Live performances of songs that will rekindle your memories of the legendary show are also common in this coffee shop. You can easily line up to have your pictures taken on the Central Perk set replica that includes the real orange couch from the TV show and a dark green chair placed perfectly to the side of a beautiful coffee table.

As if this is not enough, behind the couch is a backdrop designed to look like the Central Perk window and front door that actually helps in making the setting as real as it was during the live recording of the show. To your right is a perfectly placed group of tall tables that are in front of a flat-screen television showing Friends. A collection of costumes worn by each and every one of the show’s cast members are also available for viewing.

These and many more firsthand experience are available at this iconic coffee shop.

Is the Central Perk coffee shop located in Central park? Well it is not. But the next time you are visiting the areas surrounding 199 Lafayette St. just at the corner of Broome Street in New York there stands a beautiful coffee shop that you should not miss an opportunity of popping into if you are a Friends Show fan.  Come with friends and family to make your experience much more flamboyant and viable. It is a wonderful place to be for both starters and diehard Friends Show fanatics.
