This tag has been put out to appreciate our little garden friends the HEDGEHOG
Hedgehogs travel between one and two miles a night to forage for food,IE like berries, fruit and our garden pests beetles & caterpillars so it is critical that they can acces a wide range of gardens
HOW CAN YOU HELP!!!
- By putting (5x5) holes in walls or fences will help them roam but to small for most pets
- Hedgehogs are adept swimmers but if they can't get out deep ponds they will drown - use a pile of stones or wood to create a simple ramp
- Put out food and water in the hedgehogs active season ( March -Nov) they will benefit from dog or cat food or specialist food NEVER feed hedgehogs milk as it can cause diarrhoea... Instead fresh water in a shallow bowel
PLEASE look out for Arnold's friends numbers have declined from over 30 million in the 1950's to around 1.5 million and are now listed as an ENDANGERED SPECIES...
