About This Item

CHINOOK

Also known as King Salmon this Pacific species is the largest of all salmon, capable of reaching a weight of 100 lbs. Perhaps this size and weight is needed to survive the incredible journeys in both fresh and salt water to complete its 4-5 year life cycle.

This little guy will get his picture taken at the Russian River. (Well know salmon river in AK) with his cousins the sockye salmon then travel to PA so he can get closer to NC.

Travelled to Homer to see how my cohorts were faring in the Fishing Lagoon out on Homer Spit... they're being harassed by hordes of fishermen! I retreated to this cache to regroup before heading back out on a journey of discovery here in Alaska.
