I received this travel bug in the mail today. I feel privileged to initiate its journey.

A number of my family and friends have or are suffering from diabetes, but probably the closest of all was a black cat that I raised from a kitten. He was the dominant cat in our household when my children were born, and he lived until the age of 15.

He was diagnosed with diabetes when he was about 10 years old while being treated for an unrelated infection. I gave him humulin shots twice a day, and we were able to manage his condition for him throughout the rest of his life. It made me appreciate just how much of a struggle it is to deal with this condition every day of your life, and also how prevalent this disease is.

I hope this TB makes it to its destination. Information about Kingston upon Hull from Wikipedia is available at this link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kingston_upon_Hull
