**Updated Travel Plans (2025) We are so excited to see that our travel bug has moved over 78,000 miles. We are now updating our plans to include in our national parks unit. We request that our travel bug returns to any national park that is convenient to visit in the United States. We are currently learning about different types of rocks and will eventually move into life science. Thank you so much!
**Updated travel plans (2023): Our Geobug has been traveling for 2 years and sixth graders are now watching its progress. We would like our Geobug to travel out of the country. We are currently studying different governments and economies. Renamed as Einstein World Taveler.
Greetings from the Einstein's Classroom Friends!
Along with Einstein, we are learning American History in North American in our 5th grade classroom. Please move our class Geobug as close as you can to the locations below. This is a very abbreviated list! We will be tracking the GPS settings and studying our history along the way! It would be great if Einstein could return to Fort Bend County in Texas by May.
Please visit:
- Roanoke Colony - Virginia (or nearby)
- Jamestown - Virginia
- Mayflower Compact - Plymouth, Massachusetts
(Any convenient cache in an original colony area.)
- Original 13 Colonies - Virginia, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Delaware, North Carolina, New Jersey, South Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Georgia
- French and Indian War - Perhaps Einstein can visit Canada briefly.
(Any convenient cache in Boston.)
- Boston, Massachusetts (Any historical sites such as Paul Revere's House, Old North Church, Bunker Hill, or Boston Harbor.)
Philadelphia (Any convenient cache in city.)
- First Continental Congress (Carpenter's Hall) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
- Bill of Rights (Federal Hall draft) New York, New York
- Second Continental Congress (Independence Hall/Declaration of Independence/Constitution) - Philadelphia
(Any states in Louisiana Purchas area such as Louisiana, Missouri, Arkansas, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, and Oklahoma.)
- Louisiana Purchase (states above)
- California Gold Rush (Any location or near Sutter's Mill)
- Emancipation Proclamation/Lincoln Assassinated/Reconstruction Amendments - Washington D.C.
- Gettysburg (Battle/Gettysburg Address) - Pennsylvania
- Yorktown - Virginia
- Transcontinetal Railroad - Promontory, Utah
- Pearl Harbor (Perhaps a chance for Einstein to visit Hawaii)
- Montgomery Bus Boycott - Montgomery, Alabama
- Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" speech - Washington D.C. (if Einstein has not yet visited Washington D.C.)
Our class geobug has a ring with sea animal. Einstein is our classroom mascot. We learn about science and anything that connects to our national parks!
