The Chinese abacus is one of the most known counting frames over the world. Other known kinds are the Japanese abacus, called soroban.
The Russian abacus is called Stschoty (my teamname), or schety. In Russian language: СЧЁТЫ
The abacus was/is used to calculate (total) prices at shops, or even just at home for example doiing some arithmetic.
