The mission of this 20 year 9/11 anniversary firefighter is to travel to the City of Detroit, one of the busiest fire departments in the nation.
This is the second of three firefighters I made into Travel Bugs/Trackables for the 20 year anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. 343 FDNY firefighters lost their lives on 9/11, many more followed due to complications from working Ground Zero. This TB is just a quick reminder that we live in the United States, where 343 firefighters didn't think twice about risking their lives for others. All gave some. Some gave all.
Detroit Fire is one of the most underfunded yet busiest fire departments in the nation. Each day, the term "The First Engine will be stretching" can be heard multiple times day and night on the the department radio.
