Our second cache in Illinois was at Prairie View Cemetery. Caches in cemeteries everywhere back here! Enjoyed watching the 13-lined ground squirrel and checking out all the flowers. Beautiful peaceful views from here. Weather gave us some sprinkles, and still windy off the prairie.

First cache in Illinois. No sooner got off the plane and found this one in a nearby Walmart parking lot with a family of geese nearby. Dang, this place is green and pretty, but very very flat, windy, and humid. Overcast skies and the temps around 80 make it a lot more comfortable than the Tucson weather we just left. Well, except for that wind.

Last cache today. 'My Favorite Geocache Store #7' turned out to be a Lowes hardware store!! 👍 But first, walk carefully over the rocks near the drainage area, avoid muggles at the storage units across the street, OMG what IS that horrid smell? And now very carefully reach over and around prickly pear to grab cache..........got it! AND a hand full of those teeny tiny thorns that are so hard to remove. Pulled them out all the way home!!! 😟 But sooo worth it!! 😛

7th of 8 caches today, near the Tucson Mall, went to REI afterwards. Cute altoids LPC hide with a cute log book. Easy P&G. Dipped all the bugs. Need a cold drink, have to head home soon. And WHY did I move to Tucson???

6th of 8 caches today. Just up the street, someone had hit the overhanging suspended traffic lights. They hung maybe 10 feet above the roadway as I passed. Hot day. 94 or so.

5th of 8 caches today, stopped by to retrieve a friends tb, but it was missing - bummer. Long, hot walk. The saguaros are in bloom and I watched a black tailed gnatcatcher in a bush on the way back to the truck. Love the mural of the desert near the parking lot.

4th of 8 caches today. Stopped in to pick up a trackable for a trip to Illinois, but it wasn't there. Bummer. Photo op for rest of dipped bugs at Arizona Fish and Game sign.

3rd of 8 caches today. Cache was a tin in the desert. Spooked a white winged dove off a nest and watched her dive to the ground and drag her wing. Took delight in the two large babies in the nest! Hot day in the 90's already.

2nd of 8 caches today, 1st new one for me. Went here after lunch with friends at La Cocina. One friend's first cache, she found this one. I got gum on my shoe. Enjoyed the local history and art. Watched a gila woodpecker nearby feeding her young in a saguaro. Dipped a slew of tb's.
