Today, 12/11/06, I received a phone call that my cousin was in the hospital because of an infection in his foot caused by his diabetes. My cousin was diagnosed with Type I diabetes at the age of 21. He is now in his 50s, and has gone through insulin shots, insulin pumps, eye problems, diabetic sores and now possible amputation. My father died in 2003 from congetive heart failure, but he also had type II diabetes. The complications from that contributed to many of his medical problems. My mother was also diagnosed with type II diabetes.

On December 12, 2006, I received the Jhajjar, India Unite for Diabetes Travel Bug in the mail from groundspeak. It's mission is to get to Jhajjar to spread awareness about diabetes in the Jhajjar area. I hope it also touches many people in the US while this TB travels.

I would like to dedicate this TB to my cousin J.G.S and my father the late L.S.S.
