We would like to see this "Old Soldier" visit war and veterans memorials, and take photos with current Military and Veterans. Most importantly, we would like to thank current military, veterans and their families for their service and sacrifice.
This old toy soldier is from the World War 2 era (early 1940s). Made by the Grey Iron company and sold in dime stores in the 1940s and 1950s, he is made of solid iron and built to last. Please help him accomplish his mission (do not keep him).

After our cemetery/veteran visit in Ashland, Ohio, we took the soldier on a road trip. Headed to Wilstem Ranch near French Lick, IN to wash elephant tomorrow! This cache was placed in 2002! The original logbook was still in The ammo box to sign. Kdough (grandson) the bug and I hiked up (and I mean up!) to the cache in 95 degree heat (45 minutes round trip - 295 feet straight up from parking spot, but lots longer to find safe way to scale limestone cliffs!). Hope someone finds this bug and moves it along.

Grandson KDough took trackable on his 5th grade field trip to our Ashland County War Memorial to hear a veteran speak. This Master Sargent served 35 years, deployed many times. Thank you for your service!

11 year old grandson Kdough found this today and wanted to grab it because in 3 weeks his class takes a walking field trip in Ashland, and one part of it has the class meeting a veteran at the war memorial in the Ashland cemetery. The Veteran speaks to the kids about Memorial Day and serving our country. I thought it was great he wanted to take this medal soldier and tag to this event. Will place after attending this. (I happen to be his teacher this year and plan this field trip each year. So I too will be there.)
