Found this travel bug in my mailbox this last week. It's not a traditional geocache, but I ain't complaining.
Both my wife and my step-son are Type I (juvenile on-set) diabetics. Ryan, 8 yrs old, and I started geocaching this last fall and do all of our geocaching together. We enjoy it very much and had been thinking of ways to tie in our new favorite past time with his and his mom's disease. We wanted to raise awareness and possibly funds for research. "Cache for a Cure" was my wife's idea and sometime soon we hope to plant a cache that will do just that.
So this travelbug was a great holiday surprise and today, the first day of the New Year we are going to release it and help it on it's way to Biddeford.
We will be releasing it into a TB Depot, not far from our house, owned by the individual that got Ryan and I into geocaching. He is actually from Maine so maybe he can help it along.
We've attached a pair of binoculars to help it find its way... good luck.
