About This Item

Army Geocoin

I bought some Army geocoins to travel to places that have meant something to me throughout my career with the Army National Guard.

Ft. Lewis Washington is where I went to ROTC Advanced Camp for 6 weeks in the summer of 1988. I also went to a two-week long Reserve Component school there in 1990. I remember the great views of Mt. Rainer on those occasions when it wasn't raining. I also remember the huge ant mounds we'd see while conducting field problems.

Spotted this one in the armory. As a retired NG member (back in JUNE) I went to fort sill for my basic training and AIT. Went to Ashland NE for my PLDC. I never did actually go over to Iraq, not that I didn't want to. I'm not the one that makes all of the decisions. I retired in June after 20 1/2 years in the National guard. I have an idea of a cache that this coin will go in.
