Gather 'round, young geocachers, and PaxCache will tell you about a very old show called...ER.
Yes, ER for Emergency Room. And, yes, even though most hospitals call it the emergency DEPARTMENT these days they can't very well call it the ED, now can they?
Although a very young George Clooney was the eye candy, Anthony Edwards' character Dr. Mark Greene was the long-suffering and (spoiler alert) ultimately-dying-of-cancer heart and soul of ER. The poor bastard just kept taking it on the chin!
Although ER eventually devolved into a standard-issue melodrama (the shark-jumping moment for PaxCache was when Dr. Peter Benton played by the super-talent Eriq La Salle sonorously explained to a frightened wife, "He came in badly injured. We had to perform...a splenectomy", drawing out the word "splenectomy" so that even the non-medical audience would understand that this was a big deal) there was a scene that stands out in TV history as exquisitely well-done and underplayed.
ER fans will know what I am talking about and it is, of course, when Dr. Greene finds out his wife has been cheating on him as she lays in a hospital bed in Milwaukee. It's absolutely devastating at several levels and the title of the episode is, of course, the Muppets allusion "It's Not Easy Being Greene."
Dr. Greene stuck around after that heartbreak but who could have blamed him if he had decided to practice medicine in Greenland?
So, in honor of Anthony Edwards, ER, and this glowing green trackable, get me to Greenland.
This trackable consists of a green travel bug and a few bits of hardware on a braided metal wire. As PaxCache was creating this trackable the ghost of Michael Crichton suddenly appeared and zapped this trackable so that anybody that does not log and re-cache this trackable will have Mark Greene-eque bad luck but anybody that does log and re-cache this little guy will end up with George Clooney-esque money and good looks.
Have fun and Cache On!
