Grandma's last goal took her from Ohio to Colorado, via Hawaii, the Southernmost point in Chile and Carnival in Brazil. Now it is time to head North! How far can she go?
Grandma H is a friend of the family who, well, uh, gets a little mixed up now and then. She doesn't have Alzheimer's, so the only explanation is that she is crazy as a coot.
She might send you a Christmas present in August and a Get Well card at Christmas. Her head may be in the clouds, but her heart is in the right place.
Lest you think I'm being unnecessarily cruel to a kind old woman, Grandma H is fictional. She is based on a real event in which my family received a birthday card when a sympathy card was clearly the way to go.
Though we know that it was merely a case of switched envelopes and nothing more, the event has spawned a character whose good hearted attempts to spread a little joy in the world inadvertently snowball into hilarity.
So treat her well, she is a kind old woman and she needs your help. It would be most excellent to see some photos of her that let us know she is winding her way toward her destination.
Thanks,
"Grandson" Tom

It started out well. My brother and I were bringing Grandma H. to Chicago after her dastardly kidnapping by the Mystery Cacher. We tried to be sensitive to her recent emotional trauma and to overlook her eccentricities. But somewhere around hour 3 of her whistling the theme from The Andy Griffith show, (off key no less) we couldn't take it anymore. We asked, begged, pleaded, cajoled and bribed, all to no avail. Finally she agreed. We got off the highway to find a bar so she could wet her whistle. It turns out that it was more than a figure of speech. After 45 minutes of sitting in a bar sipping cokes through those little straws and playing Tron, while she ran up a bar bill that approached $100, we get back in the car and she starts whistling the tune from Mayberry R.F.D. The ensuing negotiations were a dismal failure ending with us going our separate ways. Sorry Grandma, but you left us no choice.

She was mysteriously dropped off at my sister's house in the middle of the night. Free at last from the clutches of the Mystery Cacher. She will be going with me to Chicago.

Well Grandma is being grabbed today. I have left her on the doorstep of her 'family'. They tried to sneak out of town without her! Can you imagine! Well I fixed them. She is hanging on the back door of Firelight's house as I write this! Good Luck to you all. I have to admit, though, I will kind of miss the old bird. She was a hoot on vacation in Gatlinburg!
I will look forward to seeing her next goal and following her adventures!
Hasta Lavista, baby!

Taking her on to more adventures. She loved the hike up here to Clingman's dome, and wanted to keep moving every time I wanted to stop and rest. Finally she had to carry me the last few hundred feet! But we made it.
Her picture will be added soon to prove it!

Oh My gosh!! Imagine my surprise to see her sitting in the cache box! I grabbed her right away so she would be safe. I hear that family will be in town in a week, so I will make sure she gets into the proper hands...but till then, I think I will have her accompany us to Gatlinburg! She will be a fun companion!
WooHoo!!
Grandma H is free!!

Kudos to the CelticSicilians. They must want Grandma back, or at least half of them do. Maybe Grandma H will be home for the holidays at the rate Firelight is logging!!
I'll be home for Christmas....
