Benchy wants to travel the world and visit ports along the way. Please photograph him with his bigger brothers and sisters in the background and make his round the world maiden voyage as memorable as can be.

About This Item

3D printed boat in White PLA, sat on the 3D printer that printed him

Benchy is a small 3D printed boat made out of PLA (Polylactic acid), that wants to sail around the world. He was one of the first prints for my machine and is used as a test print to make sure the printer is set up correctly. Some people make multiple prints in all colours and collect them. I chose to set this one free on his maiden voyage.

Benchy also has a bigger brother, imaginatively called Benchy II. Benchy II however is not destined to travel, being that he is far too big to fit into most geocaches.

    Benchys second selfie was at Camaes Bay on Anglesey with a lot of workign boats in the background enjoying their rest day on this British Bank Holiday. Dont worry Benchy, you will be on your travels real soon.

    Benchy got to visit 2 harbours (so far) today, and has his photo taken near some grown ups.

    First we visited Holyhead Maritime Museum where Benchy met this fine fellow. A quick snap from in the car for the family photo album and then it was off for another photo elsewhere.
