The year 2024 marks the 40th anniversary of the first team to win 15 games in the NFL regular season and one of the best teams in NFL history. I thought that I would do a collection honoring those players (10 as of this writing) that are no longer with us.
This trackable is dedicated to the 8th player of the 1984 Super Bowl Champion San Francisco 49ers to pass away – Keith Fahnhorst in 2018.
He attended St. Cloud Technical High School in St. Cloud, Minnesota. For college, he played for the Golden Gophers.
Keith was a tackle who not only protected Joe Montana but also opened up lanes for running backs Roger Craig and Wendell Tyler. He earned Pro Bowl honors in that 1984 season and played 14 seasons in total with the 49ers before retiring in 1987.
After retirement he became a stockbroker in the Minneapolis area. He passed in 2018 just merely a few days after more celebrated teammate Dwight Clark.
