About This Item

The Bug as Launched

I'm a Travel Bug
A cute little beast
I'm stuck in the West
But long for the East

Trolletdad started me in Maine
He got the coordinates all wrong
I'm not supposed to be here;
I should be in Hong Kong!

Hello all,

I'm sorry to report that this bug (and over 20 others) has been caught up in some sort of squabble among some folks on Vancouver Island. It is very probable that it has been destroyed.

To the people involved: This was the pet project launched by a 6-yead old boy. You have taken a pleasant family pastime and ruined it for a lot of folks. The purpose of geocaching is sharing and discovery, not to teach the mechanics of terrorism and extortion.

It is with great regret that I need to inform you that this Travel Bug has been kidnapped.
A list of demands is in the working and when the demands have been met your travel bug will be returned to a cache to continue its journey.

One of the main reasons for the kidnapping is the actions of a cheating geocacher named xterracacher who also goes by the name cachiere

The first demand is for the administrators of www.vigps.com to allow an account to be formed in the name of geojihad.
There will also be a new forum subject called "Kidnapped Cacher" created and it is there that you (one of 28 kidnapped travel bug owners) will be able to watch the negotiations for the secure release of the hostages.

There will be no further contact with you regarding your travel bugs.
All correspondense will be done at www.vigps.com on the forum board (yet to be created) called Kidnapped Cache
