Current Goal

Current Mission: Well Duke has had a lot of fun out and about for the last couple years. I think he'd like to return back home...or better yet, back to Indianapolis where he can be left with the Lakedawgs who miss him sooooo much.  :-)

About This Item

It was a beautiful day for caching. Opus2621 and I headed out with about 70 caches in our pocket query and enough time to get the majority of them. Of course, we were riding in Duke: The Wango Tango Durango and everything was going just fine until we made a turn and suddenly Duke was shaking and bouncing us all over the road. After pulling over to the side we spotted this:

Shaft…can you dig it?

Several hours later, after being towed to a garage we were back on the road with a new (to me) driveshaft. We didn’t get nearly as many caches as we were hoping for, but we left with a great story and I left with a brand new travel bug!

Duke loves to go caching, so it’s only right that his old driveshaft should still get to go caching. Please feel free to haul this to events and take care that it doesn’t wander off. I’d love to see pictures of it with you and your fellow cachers at some of your favorite events.

In the event that the travel bug tag should fall off, I’ve carved the numbers into the side of the shaft.

Well ... I've been told (many times) that I just shouldn't be wearing flip flops while caching (sez who?). Nobody said anything about while hosting an Event. Yes, Duke's Dangler narrowly missed my toes as it decided it wanted to move away from the Trackables table. Caught it, just in time (and man, were my toes thankful)!

I was aware of this Trackable, and at yesterday's Event was finally able to see it for myself. Funny, I used to work at a Jeep shop, and every time I'd see a used drive shaft I'd think ... "hmmm ... ". Glad to see that Duke's doing the used drive shafts of the world proud!
