This travel bug is attached to a First Cavalry Division combat patch. These patches are special in that they are only authorized to be worn by troopers serving in a combat zone. The normal 1st Cav patch has the head of the horse facing forward when the patch is affixed to the left shoulder. The combat patch has the horse head reversed so that when it is worn on a troopers right shoulder sleeve, both horses are facing forward symbolic of the Cavalry's "always ready to charge” attitude.
