Der Pier 39 ist ein Teil von Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco. Es ist eine ehemalige Bootsanlegestelle, die heute einen ganzjähriger Rummel mit Souvenir-Läden, Fahrgeschäften, Restaurants und einem Aquarium beherbergt. Die Pier befindet sich im Norden von San Francisco und ist eine bekannte und sehr beliebte Touristenattraktion. Neben den kommerziellen Einrichtungen gibt es auch eine „kostenlose“ Attraktion: Es haben sich kalifornische Seelöwen auf Anlegestellen an der Pier angesiedelt und nutzen diese als Ruheplätze.

The Pier 39 is a part of Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco. It is a former boat dock, now an all-year amusement park with souvenir shops, travel stores, restaurants and an sea aquarium. The pier is located to the north of San Francisco and is a well known and very popular tourist attraction. Apart from the commercial institutions, there is also a "free" attraction: There have California sea lions on docks at the pier area and use them as resting places.
