The Trapper Trails Council of the Boy Scouts of America is pleased to participate in the 100 year Anniversary of Scouting in the World.
The goal of this Travel Bug is to visit as many Scout Council's and Scouting Units as possible World wide. Two coins were started at the same time to try and get as much area covered during this 100 year anniversary as possible.
Trapper Trails Council is headquartered in Ogden, Utah. Scouting in this area began not too many years after the founding of the movement in the United States.
On February 8, 1919, the Lake Bonneville Council was chartered with less than 600 young members. The council boundaries were from Kaysville, Utah on the South to Tremonton, Utah on the North. On January 1, 1993 the Lake Bonneville Council merged with Cache Valley Council (Logan, Utah) and the Jim Bridger Council (Rock Springs, Wyoming) to form the Trapper Trails Council. This Council has grown from a fledging Council to a large metro Council serving more than 46,000 youth and 21,000 adult leaders.
Scouting continues to stress the principles and values that made this country great and with remarkable credibility passes those values on to each generation.
