MISSION: To move from cache to cache, visit areas near NASA facilities, meet interesting cachers who are interested in space travel, and eventually get near to Goddard Space Center in Greenbelt, Maryland, so that my owner can see what's become of me!
I hope to collect some space memorabilia as I travel, if I can! Space-themed pins can be pinned right to the lanyard, and space-themed keychains could be hooked to the ring, for example. Try not to make me too heavy, though! And keep me safe and dry in my plastic bag, please, as I sit and wait in caches.
My owner has been to 3 "NASATweetups" now - NASA-sponsored events where people randomly selected from Twitter have the opportunity to tour NASA facilities, talk with NASA scientists, and see some things that the public usually never gets to see! Some NASATweetups have allowed their participants the opportunity to view space shuttle launches from up close - really, REALLY close - the Press Site at Kennedy Space Center! I was born at the JPLTweetup in Pasadena, California on June 6th. JPL is NASA's Jet Propulsion Lab, where awesome science such as the Mars Rovers and the Voyager project happens! Made from the owners own badge lanyard, I'm starting my life in a commemorative cache created at the Tweetup with the help of many other “tweeps” and fellow geocachers.
