To travel from city to city (preferably cities with baseball teams).
Mike Morgan pitched in the major leagues from 1978 to 2002. He played for twelve different major league teams, including part of the 1998 season with my favorite team, the Minnesota Twins. Playing with twelve teams is the current major league record for playing with the most teams.
This rather dubious distinction overlooks a solid major league pitching career that spanned four decades. It includes an All-Star appearance in 1991, a 1992 campaign in which he went 16-8 with a 2.55 ERA, and pitching for the 2001 World Champion Arizona Diamondbacks.
Like the eponymous pitcher, the goal of the Mike Morgan Travel Bug is to travel from city to city. Who knows – maybe the Mike Morgan Travel Bug can make it to places the real Mike Morgan never did. After all, Morgan never made it to the Pacific League in Japan, or played winter ball in Venezuela, or did time in the Canadian-American Association of Professional Baseball.
