I want to travel, see as many places as possible, and in particular anything associated with steam or old machinery.
My name is Royal Chester. I was made in Northampton in the early 1920s by William Allchin Ltd. and I was destined to be exhibited at the Royal Chester show in 1925. I spent most of my operational life in Derbyshire but ended my working days in a scrap yard. Fortunately, before being cut-up, I was rescued and restored and can still be seen at rallies in England. The TB was updated in December 2010 by the addition of 1/76 scale model of an Allchin engine. This was kindly donated by Mark Hamilton, another steam enthusiast, from the Geocaching team, FLIPPER&CO. Thanks Mark.

I see that, as I write, the Great Dorset Steam Fair has just completed its opening day.
Sincere thanks to Moosical Pairs for taking care of Chester, showing him so many interesting places and arranging to hand him on to Mark & Gayle, a pair of keen Aussie steamies visiting the Fair.
I am certain young Chester will enjoy the Fair – perhaps meet some of his friends and relatives or, maybe, even his father, the original Royal Chester as pictured on my profile.
Best wishes and thanks also to Mark & Gayle for enlisting Jonathan & Hayley to get Chester to the Fair.

Well - it's time to say goodbye...
After a trip taking in 5 countries, lasting five months and covering a mere 17619.9 miles (!!), Chester has been packed off and posted off to Mark and Gayle so he can fulfil his dream and visit the Dorset steam fair. So long, and we hope we bump into him again at some point in the future so we can take him with us on our adventures once more.
All the best,
J&H

We took Chester to the seaside!! It was a Saturday in the Summer holidays at the beach... so naturally it was very wet and very windy - even the ice cream huts were shut!
Chester got his photo taken on the pier - you can just about make out the coast through the gloom!

Chester had a quick trip to the 'Back of the Moon' (a tiny village in Yorkshire!)... hopefully he'll be back in time for the steam fair later this month.

Took Chester along to the UK's first ever Mega Event. There happened to be a vintage vehicles fair going on in the field opposite the event venue... Chester met a friend!
