Current Goal

I am a travel bug lighthouse with a mission to visit my bigger brother and sister lighthouses around the country/world. If possible, I would like my picture taken with my relatives and posted on this site for a family album. After I have visited my family on the West Coast, East Coast, Gulf Coast and around the Great Lakes (and everywhere along the way), please take me back home to Ft. Worth, Texas, and note in the cache's logbook that my owner will pick me up there.

Wow! This was a great trip. We took a picture with the lighthouse on top of Fort Jefferson National Park in the Dry Tortugas and if you look in the far background, you can see the tall lighthouse on Loggerhead Island.

The Dry Tortugas are located 70 west from Key West and you must travel by Sea or Air. We took the Fast Cat out of Key West and it took us over 2 hours to get there. The fort was built as a prison and to protect the lower islands during the civil war. Even though it was in the far south, the fort was controlled by the Union and not the Confederates.

This is a must see place if you are ever in the Keys!!!
