Known as "the last of the mountain men", Ben was a legend as a trapper & hunter in both the old South & the great Southwest! Help his legend continue by passing him through geocaches in the land he loved so well.
Mountain lions & bears were his specialty. Ben was a hunting guide for Teddy Roosevelt's famous BEAR HUNT in Mississippi which led to the "birth" of the TEDDY BEAR.
He hunted the wilderness where there were no roads, no game trails - areas where even horses could not go. He was happiest in places most people would never see - disappearing for months with nothing more than his hounds, an axe, a knife, rifle, tin can, a couple of ears of corn & the clothes on his back.
