Current Goal

Bugsy wants to travel to caches all over the world and see what he has been missing since his confinement. However, he gets a kick out of going anywhere that other flamingos might hang out. Since he is a Chilean Flamingo, he would REALLY love to go back to Chile someday for a visit. He wouldn't mind checking in on his old flockmates at the Las Vegas Flamingo every now and then, but he doesn't want to stay long and risk recapture.

Bugsy Flamingo

I got "flamingoed" in Las Vegas! This TB managed to escape from the Las Vegas Flamingo Hotel & Casino's flock of Chilean Flamingos and hitch a ride back East with me. The infamous gangster, Bugsy Siegel, originally built the Flamingo in 1946 in the desert outside of Las Vegas on what is now known as "The Strip". In spite of a series of profits, losses, and multiple ownership changes, it continues to operate today. Currently a Hilton property, part of the hotel’s attractions include a garden aviary complete with Chilean Flamingos. This TB is dedicated to my good friends John, Linda, Mindy, and Laura; all of whom completely understand what it means to be "flamingoed".

Oh yeah, I think Bugsy wouldn't mind missing a potential Vegas opportunity in lieu of Sweden . . . after all, how many flamingos can say they've been to Europe!

Thanks again to all who have taken Bugsy "under their wing", so to speak. I never knew this little 'ole bird would travel so many miles or see so many sights by now. Since he's headed back west, I bet he would love to visit the Las Vegas Flamingo Hilton in November to celebrate his second anniversary of freedom. Who knows, he may get his wish!
