*In 2020, geocoins.nz installed this memorial plaque to commemorate the hiding of "First New Zealand" (GC45) on 12 May 2000, the very first geocache placed outside of the United States. The plaque was unveiled on 12 May 2020 via a special live YouTube broadcast, during COVID lock down. It was the 20th anniversary of the date of hiding GC45.
