See at the breakfast. My first bug was from Europe and called Leggs. He disappeared in Wisconsin. Found a few more since then.

Tried to secure it from Moe the Sleeze, but he kept it.😟

My first cache was the now archived "Near the Cottonwood" trail, found on Christmas day, 2000 with my brand new GPSr.

The first travel bug I found I didn't take or log because I didn't know what to do with it. The first one I picked up and logged was "HannahBug" which I moved from the Twin Cities, across the border into Wisconsin.

my firsts:

technically my first cache was 'lake minnewashta regional park.' but i visited this cache with a geocacher who had recently been there. the cache is in the coverage area of my newspaper, and so i used it as the focus of a story about geocaching. i had learned about geocaching from a college friend whose parents had recently visited a cache in the small wisconsin town where i first worked after i graduated from college.

so at the first cache i traded a few trinkets for a necklace that i gave to my girlfriend's 4-year-old daughter.

within 2 months i had my own GPSr. so the first cache i found on my own was 'french regional park.' the dollar bill i took from the cache hadn't been registered at wheresgeorge.com, as i would have guessed. i did register it, however, and placed it in a new cache i created months down the road. coincidently, this cache was also rock johnson's first find, mere minutes after i found it.

my first solo find was supposed to be 'key chains' in key west, florida. i had just picked up my GPSr, so i was looking forward to using it while on vacation. i used it, but didn't search the the hiding spot thoroughly enough to find the cache. 😟

my first TB: a long story that's not worth repeating. basically i was anxious to find a bug or two for my trip to hollywood in april 2003. i found a cache with a bug along my path of travel one evening, about a week before my trip. i didn't research the bug, so i didn't know it's goal was to stay within minnesota. the bug didn't go to hollywood, but a couple others did, all of which wound up disappearing from the caches they were placed. obviously i was carrying some sort of curse, and unaware of it at the time.

i have never released a bug.

my first cache: i gave it a nice boring name, 'hardware's first cache.' the cache was stolen within a couple of months, along with one other i had placed. they were both stolen, deliberately, but the details of the thievery aren't worth repeating. cheaper, less glamourous containers have since replaced 'em, so they are active again.

thanks for this travel bug!

Firsts... The first cache I ever searched for didn't exist. The owner archived it in the field but never took it off the website. I spent an hour looking for that bugger. I thought I didn't understand the game.
First find was Little Castle (Wisconsin).
My first hide was Rest with a View (Wisconsin).
First TB was Bolt.
