Retrieve It from a Cache 4/16/2006 Drewscoot retrieved it from 100 Year School Memories Victoria, Australia   Visit Log

Mrs Drewscoot and I decided that Marcus might be getting a little lonely at this country school (student role used to be about 12-15 students) in the middle of the Wimmera wheat plains, country Victoria, so we brought him back to a more populated environment.

We'll be placing him in another cache near a school or playground soon, but in the meantime, he's having great fun with Mrs Drewscoot's collection of wombats, kangaroos, bears and other 'friends' - See photos :D

  • An Aussie 'Mate' Marcus enjoyed meeting some of the native wildlife whilst visiting country Victoria (Australia) - Here, he hitches a ride with his new Kangaroo friends.
  • Wombat friends Marcus also learnt some valuable lessons about digging from his wombat friends 'downunder' (Very useful for getting out from fenced in playgrounds) :D
  • Surprise Visit Marcus gave some of his new mates a bit of a surprise when he crawled onto the beak of one of his new feathered friends. Budgie (left), Galah (Right) and Toucan (Centre), as well as some other friends, were all pleasently surprised to see that Marcus was comfortable with his new surroundings.
  • The King meets Marcus Even the king of the jungle granted Marcus a special audience!
  • Floppy Friend Marcus was also pleased that 'mans best friend' was also present in the 'zoo' that is Mrs Drewscoots collection.
  • Bedtime for Marcus Finally, after a long and tiring day, Marcus crawled into the Drewscoot's spare bed for a much needed rest!

Wooly blankets weren't quite finished (the wool was still on the sheep's back) but Marcus was certainly kept warm when all his new friends snuggled up to him.

Marcus almost got to spend the winter in Yellowknife. Managed to find the cache under a foot of snow. Will take him to New Zealand, maybe to visit the elves at Rivendell.
