An amazing discovery has been made in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Engineers under contract with the Green Bay Packers for the redevelopment of Lambeau Field, discovered the hidden world of a very shy but friendly mouse-like creature living there. Scientists believe that this species is a distant cousin of the common Pack Rat. They have named this sub-species pack-rrr-ratus adoptus, and theorize that they moved into Lambeau Field during its construction in 1957.
The Lambeau Field Pack Rats have lived a secretive lifestyle, coming out of their hiding places only after the games to clean up the cheese and brats left over by the best fans in the world. As a result of their rich diet and through their love for the Packers and the fans, they have evolved to take on the colors of their surroundings. . . green and gold.
The first baby Pack Rat born in Lambeau Field was named 'Curly', and so began the tradition of naming their offspring after their favorite Packer players and history makers. While a large percentage of Pack Rats evolved to take on various combinations of their green and gold surroundings, there are others whose habits have made them rats of a different color. A favorite activity of the youngsters is to sneak into the equipment bags of the players and travel along to all the away games. As a result they have evolved to take on the players away colors. . . green, gold and white.
Elders of the Pack realized that because of the increasing size of their families it would soon be impossible to keep their existence a secret. They came up with a solution that would address this and other issues regarding Lambeau Field. Allowing many of their number to be adopted by the fans would alleviate their overcrowding, give their young the opportunity to be loved and cared for by the best fans in the world, and through proceeds from the adoptions help to create a better home for Curly Pack Rats and Packer fans alike.
