Current Goal

The goal of this coin is to travel to caches in all 88 counties of Ohio, preferably by bicycle and along bike routes or trails. Preference is for the coin to be left at geocaches along the bike trails of Ohio! If you can, upload pictures of the bike trails you travel and the cache sites you visit. Please do not take out of the state! Thanks!

Unfortunately, the last cacher who grabbed this coin has never placed it back into a cache even after I e-mailed them and asked them to do so. (And they even replied and said they would.) Oh well, one of the reasons I don't release many coins into general circulation.

About This Item

At one time Ohio was the site of travel by boat on canals, now we have a growing network of bike trails all over the state! Get out and ride!

    Picked it up today near Maumee, Ohio, on the North Fork of the old Wabash Railroad, now a wonderful rail trail. What an awesome coin, one of the nicest that I've ever seen. We made a special trip to get to see this one. I'll try to place it near another bike trail here in Ohio soon. I live in Michigan, but will be back in Ohio over Christmas. We have hundreds of miles of rail trails and bike trails in Michigan, but this beauty obviously needs to stay here in the Buckeye State.

    We did not expect to find a coin intent on biking around the state on a hiking trail (In Snake Town Canal Walk) though trail bikes may use this path. There are bike trails nearby and we will try to pass this beautiful coin on to one of those caches. Our biking has been hindered this summer by health conditions, but our recumbents are eager to go whenever we are. Thanks for the reminder to get out and ride. benttrikerider(s)
