You may be wondering what that little circuit board in your hand is supposed to be. Alien technology? An astrological ID card from 21st century New Age hippies? Almost right. It is the miniaturized front of an analog synthesizer oscillator. Sorry, what? It's about music in the broadest sense. While today any smartphone with the right app can generate sounds, in the past this required several devices connected in series that modulated a simple beep until it became music. Even today there is a scene of extremely creative sound artists who make music in this way. To experience how they throw one ingredient after the other into the pot like star chefs and cook music with it is very fascinating. I was able to do this at the Superbooth Synthesizer Fair 2021 in Berlin. I took this keychain with me as a souvenir. Today it is going on a journey.

Du fragst dich vielleicht, was diese kleine Platine in deiner Hand eigentlich sein soll. Außerirdische Technologie? Eine astrologischer Ausweis von New-Age Hippies des 21. Jahrhunderts? Fast richtig. Es ist die miniaturisierte Vorderseite eines eines analogen Synthesizer Oszillators. Bitte was? Es geht um Musik im weitesten Sinne. Während heutzutage jedes Smartphone mit der passenden App Töne erzeugen kann, waren dafür frühe mehrere in Reihe geschaltete Geräte notwendig, die einen einfachen Pfeifton so lange moduliert haben, bis daraus Musik wurde. Noch heute gibt es eine Szene überaus kreativer Klangkünstler, die auf diese Weise musizieren. Zu erleben, wie sie wie Sterneköche eine Zutat nach der anderen in den Topf werfen um daraus Musik zu kochen ist sehr faszinierend. Ich durfte das auf der Superbooth Synthesizer Messe 2021 in Berlin. Als Erinnerung habe ich diesen Schlüsselanhänger mitgenommen. Heute geht er auf die Reise.

Forse ti starai chiedendo cosa dovrebbe essere quel piccolo circuito stampato che hai in mano. Tecnologia aliena? Una carta d'identità astrologica degli hippy New Age del 21° secolo? Quasi giusto. È il fronte miniaturizzato di un oscillatore sintetizzatore analogico. Per favore cosa? Riguarda la musica nel senso più ampio. Mentre oggi qualsiasi smartphone con la giusta app può generare suoni, in passato ciò richiedeva più dispositivi collegati in serie che modulassero un semplice fischio fino a farlo diventare musica. Ancora oggi esiste una scena di artisti del suono estremamente creativi che fanno musica in questo modo. Sperimentare come mettono gli ingredienti nella pentola uno dopo l'altro come chef stellati e come cucinano con la musica è molto affascinante. Ho potuto farlo alla Superbooth Synthesizer Fair 2021 a Berlino. Ho portato con me questo portachiavi come souvenir. Oggi sta partendo per un viaggio.
