I will never forget November 12, 1999, the Sacramento Kings Home Opener for the 1999-2000 season. This was the beginning of the Purple Reign. From that very first game in Sacramento that brought together Chris Webber, Vlade Divak, Doug Christie and Jason Williams it was clear that there was something special -- there was a spark, a flair, an extra pass, a fast break, a three-pointer that had never been seen before in the River City. It put Sacramento on the map...

The Purple Reign came to a sudden end almost as swiftly as it started with the off-season implosion of their arch vivals to the South, the Team-That-Shall-Not-Be-Named, and the defection to that very team by Vlade, followed by the trade of the Christie, and finally this Trade. It may all work out in the end, but it was clearly the end of an Era.

Grabbed this from the Little Bug Motel (GCHKA7). Man, C-Webb just ate up KG in the recent game against the 'Wolves. Had a 20-20 night, and was the reason they won the game. KG used to regularly own C-Webb when he played for the Kings, but not in this game. Wished he would have tried to call a time out...
