About This Item

Oliver's Steady Eddie

This is one of a pair of Steady Eddie Travel bugs owned by my sons Alex and Oliver.

For those of you that don't know, Steady Eddie, is the cartoon version of the Eddie Stobart trucks that are a regular sight on UK motorways. Whenever we are traveling and the boys see an Eddie Stobart truck, they always shout "STEADY EDDIE, STEADY EDDIE" at the top of their voices.

They were released at GCKJ23 North West Meet - The Green on the 16th October 2004. Their aim is to travel to as many UK caches as possible in the next year. If all goes to plan we'd like to meet up with them, wherever they lie, during the October Half Term next year (2005). Please move this bug on as quickly as possible as the kids will be monitoring their progress. I'm sure they'd love to see pictures of them throughout the year. Especially you could take it's picture with a real Eddie Stobart truck!

PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THIS BUG OUT OF THE UK

Cache has gone missing along with this TB. Many apologies to Oliver

Took Eddie on a trip back quite close to where he set off from originally.

On the way up the M6 we passed four real Eddies, their names were Stephanie Caroline, Rita, Shelby Leigh and Amelia Jane. And on the way home we saw three more: Leigh Catherine, Dora and Janine. Never seen so many on one weekend before, but maybe I haven't been looking as carefully!

A not-so-subtle hint was made that this Steady Eddie was to be found quite near me, so I thought I'd better drop by and pick it up. Ready to put some more miles on the tachograph now, so where shall it be? Back towards its owner, as I'm headed North tomorrow (Lymmwards)... Brum or North Wales next weekend..., or a rest, oil change and service before a trip to Devon, but not for 4 weeks? If the owner or his father would like to put in a request, I'll see which I can manage.
