Current Goal

Johnny Thunder is a Lego figure originally released in Cleveland, Ohio but who now makes his home in Cincinnati. His goal is to visit the cache closest to the geographical center of the continental United States, as well as the caches closest to the 8 extreme points of the continental US (NW, N, NE, W, E, SW, S and SE)

For more information, visit his website at http://www.insidecorner.com/geocaching/johnny/

If anyone has a digital camera and can take a picture to upload that would be cool. Let's see if we can get him to the geographical center of the US in Kansas first!

About This Item

Johnny Thunder

The links below are the caches that are the closest to Johnny's 9 goals as of now. As more geocaches are placed, this could change.

The act of finding, for example, the geographical center of the US, or the North-eastern most point of the US is not an exact science. For more information on why I chose the points that I did, feel free to browse Johnny's website

Traded TB in Kingsport, TN cache -- In Fleximan; Out Johnny Thunder. After spending a couple of years trying to get to the center of the states, he might want to bag the goal and head to the Outer Banks. Will drop off in Maryland during upcoming vacation.

Grab It (Not from a Cache) 2/23/2002 byeiser grabbed it   Visit Log

Collected Johnny Thunder from a cache in Cincinnati with our son Eric. This was early November. Intention was to place bug in a cache placed by a friend near Newburgh, Indiana -- a westward movement. Eric came home for Thanksgiving but forgot the bug. We looked for the cache anyway. Found a litter of cats under a stump but no cache. Told my friend. He confirmed it was missing and logged it as such. I actually brought the bug home at Christmas hoping to place it in a cache near Henderson, Kentucky at Audobon Park. We never got together. I got Eric's GPS in early February. When I checked the website the Audobon cache had 'gone missing' for the last few attempts. A couple of weeks ago, it was found in poor condition (wet). Finder took it home, dried it out and replaced it -- this time in an ammo box.
Yesterday wife and I found the Audobon cache, put the bug there and in a few moments, I will get the web page for that cache updated.
