Current Goal

Emmy's current goal is to return to Castle Rock, Colorado.  When Emmy returns to Colorado, I plan to assemble a book containing the log entries and pictures during her journey. This book will be an emotional gift that we plan to present to her family at an appropriate time.

MEREDITH EMMA MAHAN GROCE NOVEMBER 5, 1997 – MARCH 13, 2009 (EMMY, M.E., EMEM, M&M, EMMYLOU, LOU, LOUBIE, LOUBERRY, LOUBERRYPIE) Emmy was a beautiful, bright, quirky, funny, kind, hilarious girl. She was taken very suddenly at the age of just 11. Emmy always wanted to see Hawaii and we would like you to take this bug and move it toward there. After she reaches Hawaii, THE WORLD! Please, if you can, take a picture with this picture of Emmy wherever you take the bug and log it for everyone to see.  We love you Emmy. We miss you. We want THE WORLD for you. Love

Today Emmy visited Legoland in Carlsbad, CA with our family. This is a fun park that our family always enjoys. One of the highlights of the park is an area called "Miniland". In Miniland there are a number of cityscapes and themed areas all made out of legos. The park just opened a new Star Wars exhibit there that was just awesome. Emmy was able to experience Miniland and many other fun attractions at the park.

My family has enjoyed Emmy's company and feel blessed to have met her.

Note - In the park entrance photo Emmy is at the base of the sign, against the right side post. She may be too small to see.

Took Emmy with me to Coronado for a long walk, when a rain came on. I decided to weather it with my hooded sweatshirt. As I walked up and down the shore with the chilly rain on my face, I thought about a lot about things that trouble me... When I picked my head up from the cold, wet wind- There it was. A rainbow. The reassurance that on the other side of any storm, there is beauty and light. I headed back to Pacific Beach next... and the same thing happened- but it was a double-rainbow.
