Current Goal

The Dutch Geocoin 2006 was designed by team simpson and minted by Karel Kraak.
The front of the coin shows a bicycle which shows the main way of geocaching in the Netherlands: by bicycle. The front wheel of the bicycle exists of a compass rose, above the wheel you find the lettering Geocaching NL Style! The rear of the coin shows the out shape of the Netherlands including it's twelve provinces. The out shaped part is surrounded by the flag of the Netherlands and the lettering "Nederlandse Geocoin 2006" and "Trackable on www.geocaching.com".

In totally two versions of this coin are known:

  • Dutch Geocoin 2006 (Antique Gold)
  • Dutch Geocoin 2006 (Antique Silver) LE

The size of the Dutch Geocoin 2006 is 42 mm, the weight of the coin is approx. 32.9 g.

The Dutch Geocoin is one of the longest existing geocoin series in the world. Since 2005 one new version of this coin was released and the serie is still continuing.

Für das Geocoinfest Europe 2015 Netherlands sind wir in Eindhoven angereist. Wie zu erwachten gab es hier neben Verkaufsständen auch einiges anderes zu sehen. Coin Ausstellungen in der oberen Etage, Signal in der unteren. Und natürlich viele bekannte und unbekannte Cacher. diese hatten viele TBs ud Coins zum discovern dabei und zeigten diese auch gerne. Du warst einer davon.

[violet]I'm currently hitchhiking my way around Europe as part of a geocaching trip around the world. My first stop was Ireland where I spent a couple weeks touring the country. I then flew to London and spent a couple weeks touring the United Kingdom. From there I made my way through the tunnel and up to Amsterdam and then back down to Belgium. After that I headed for France. Then from there I headed to Portugal for a mega event that was happening. After that I headed for Denmark to attend another Mega event. I then made my way North into Sweden and then even further North to Norway. After that I proceeded to work my way back down South through Finland and then ferry hopped my way through a few of the islands to arrive back in Sweden. Next I made my way to Germany for another Mega event and then back to the Netherlands for still another mega event. I was then fortunate enough to see this collection of geocoins and have the opportunity to discover them all

These were made available for discovery at the superb GeoCoinFest in Eindhoven. We had a wonderful day and have added it into our plan for next year's possible ventures as we prepare to bring the UK Mega to Yorkshire in 2018 :)

Voor het eerst op een Geocoinfest geweest en een leuke dag gehad. Snel langs een aantal kraampjes gelopen en daarna caches gezocht in de omgeving.

Ook mocht ik deze mooie verzameling discoveren. Geo-Dragonchild bedankt voor de trackingcodes.
