About This Item

AMTG OKIC 2007 GC 2

Mid to large size coin with heft. 1.75 inches 3.5 mm thick antique bronze.  Available in other metal colors. Unusual shape in that the rim has small ribs. The front of this coin has nice metal texture and different types of bold 3-D work. The center medallion shows the states of Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio with a circle where the three state touch. These are in commercial enamel colors. The outer medallion has a compass with nice matte yellow enamel. There is a change of 3-D work to define the medallion and rim. The rim has script in enamel that reads "Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana Cachers". The first letter of each state name is done in the same color as the state enamel. The reverse has no enamel work and uses relief, etching and raised 3-D work. The medallion shows a river boat with steam stacks and a city sky line. The detail is excellent and can be better appreciated with a magnifying glass. The rim has script that reads "OKIC 2007 Home of the Tall Stacks". The ribs appear to represent a ships wheel. Very nice coin.

Info on the coin:  Lots of great detail in this 3D coin. The 2007 Geocoin for the Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana Geocachers (OKIC) features a great 3D view of Cincinnati featuring a steam boat (Tall Stacks).

So many of my trackables have been muggled that I only release new GCs as virtuals. If you do not approve, please leave it in the cache for a cacher who understands. Thanks. HR

Thanks to the 2023 Christmas Day blizzard my daughter, JMVonFange, was delayed in heading home so we spent the bonus time together comparing our caching statistics including trackables discovered and looking through our geocaching pictures. JM has discovered significantly more trackables that I have mainly because while we were staying home during the pandemic she spent time online and spotted numerous TBs that were being shared virtually on various social media sites like Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, etc. Thankfully, she still had a few notes that helped guide my search for the same trackables that she had already discovered. After looking at the TB page for each of the TBs that she had discovered, I found that a large number all belonged to several individuals and sent a message to them individually inquiring about permission to log their trackables. This travel bug was on the list that you shared with me.
