AJ

Meet AJ, our South West Florida alligator. He’s supposed to be a placid ten footer but is a might small for his age. He lives mainly on road kill and tourist’s lunches. AJ often lays on our driveway to protect my husband when he is working on something in the garage but always falls asleep because of the tremendous heat from the driveway on a sunny day. He would much rather be lounging in the pool with me.

AJ has decided he would like not only a change of scenery but diet as well, so he has chosen to go to Maine to taste the lobster and to eat blueberry pie, muffins, cake and whatever else they make blueberries from.

When he gets his fill AJ would like to come back to S.W. Florida someday, since he has family here and would like to visit them from time to time.

Despite a checkered past, AJ is back on track again and roaming about the gator holes of Florida. Like the prodigal son he was lost but now is found. No telling where he will go next.

As noted by the geofogies on 10/11/05, I originally found AJ Gator residing in "A Fisherman's Rescue" in Fort DeSoto Park although it was (and still is) incorrectly logged into the "Rainbow River Rascal" in Dunnellon, Florida. In order to properly account for the TB's travel, I previously contacted cacher ~NIMH~ with detailed instructions on how to fix the chronology errors resulting from thier incorrect logs. So to not further complicate the already incorrect logs, I planned on withholding by own log until this TB was correctly placed where I found it. Unfortunately, I did not hear back from ~NIMH~ and in the meantime AJ Gator was temporarily misplaced and forgotten. This log is now intended to retroactively grab AJ Gator from "Rainbow River Rascal". I am sincerely sorry for my role in the long delay in placing AJ Gator, but I promise to find it an appropriate muggle-free home within days.

Trying to clear up this bug's travel history at the owner's request. Here's what I know:

Prior to 2/7/05, NIMH dropped the bug in Rainbow River Rascal (FL). He had picked it up in Maine and dropped it off in FL, but was on the road and didn't keep track of his dates and so entered some incorrect dates and locations.

On 2/7/05 we picked up the bug at Rainbow River Rascal.

On 2/16 we dropped AJ at Fisherman's Rescue (GCM8Z3).

On 2/26/05, Clearwater Bob retrieved AJ from Fisherman's Rescue. That pickup is not listed on this webpage but it is mentioned on the Fisherman's Rescue cache page.

Finally have a chance to log this precious bug. I dropped it off at rainbow springs cache in Florida right next to the river, how fitting! It was kind of lonely up in Maine where there were no gators to play with, now he has plenty.
