Filbert Geocache....well he's an ‘anorak’, in particular a plane spotter! He devotes all his spare time visiting the observation decks of airports around the world.
Clutching a well-worn note book Filbert religiously records the registration details of any commercial aircraft he spots. Filbert also likes to collect airline memorabilia - safety demonstration cards, sick bags and luggage tags just to name a few.
It comes as no surprise Filbert is a member of just about every frequent flyer program he can sign up to! Filbert is happiest when he is flying, ensconced in an economy class seat, sipping his free beverage, racking up the frequent flyer points and recording every trivial detail of the flight in his note book!

I logged this TB in Ontario even though it wouldn't fit in the container. I wanted to make sure it was given credit for the 3000+ km trip it made both ways between Calgary and Ottawa. I will try to find a good home for it in Calgary in the near future.

Dropped bug in Bashful. Though I think I've found Filbert #7 it's next plane ride. We'll have to wait and see!

Grabbed him up in Maui, headed to the airport for a first class flight on Air Canada all the way to Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Unfortunately, the plane was 4 hours late arriving from Canada, so we were trying to sleep in the Maui airport till 3AM Christmas morning, listening to Don Ho's Christmas special on the PA system over and over and over... We eventually got on and rode in style in a Boeing 767, flight AC58. Had a short layover in Van and caught our next flight to Calgary, Alberta, home for me. Flight AC210 on an Airbus 319. That covered about 5000KM (all on Air Canada Aeroplan points too!).
I'll try to get the little bug back in the system this week. We've got 6 inches of snow on the ground just in the city of Calgary now. Maybe a visiting skier would like to take him away on their next flight??

We had planned to leave Filbert #7 on Hawaii but once he got wind of our plans to take a 9-seater PropJet to Maui, well then we just couldn't shake him. Pacific Wings 'Flying through Paradise' flight #326 was scheduled to leave Kona at 1226 arriving on Maui at 1316, however as it was almost a private charter with only one other passenger, the flight left about 30 minutes early arriving about 1230. The Cessna Caravan 208B was registered N305PW.

Filbert #7 just couldn't find a place to settle on Oahu so he is off to Hawaii - 'The Big Island' flying Aloha Airlines. Departed Honolulu on AQ#270 at 1325, arrived Kona at 1406 on a Boeing 737-200, scheduled flying time was just 41 minutes. The aircraft was named Lihelihe and registered N823AL.
