To celebrate Mobile and its rich history - I'm launching this TB with the hopes of it visiting Mobile and her Sister Cities. There are thirteen, and while not all of them maybe Cache Friendly - I thought it was worth a shot!
The cities/countries I'm hoping to visit (in alphabetical order) are:
Constanta, Romania
Gianjin, People's Republic of China
Havana, Cuba
Ichihara, Japan
Katowice, Poland
King Shaka, South Africa
Košice, Slovakia
Málaga, Spain
Mobile, Alabama, USA
Pau, France
Pyongtaek, South Korea
Rostov-on-Don, Russia
Veracruz, Mexico
Worms, Germany
To achieve this bug's lofty ambitions, please feel free to pass it not just from cache to cache, but from cacher to cacher - in person or through the mail. The most important thing is to keep it moving!
The most common nickname for Mobile, is the Port City, but while there are lots of us cities with ports, few can claim to be the azalea city as well. These beautiful flowers make Mobile a paradise of pinks and whites in the spring. Mobile is also where Mardi Gras, as we know it today originated in the states.
This Travel Bug has been launched to share a little of that spirit and hopefully find out about the unique spirits of the sister cities. Any pictures, stories, or links you want to share about your cities are welcome and very appreciated!
The Travel Bug itself is a silver heart that seems to have some sort of soft chimes inside of it. I wish it had some symbolism but really I just thought it was pretty.
I do realize that some of these places don't have caches yet, optimistically I would like to think that perhaps someone might still travel to those cacheless place and take the bug along with them, and perhaps take a picture to record the journey.
