To be the first Travel Bug on Mars. OK, that's probably a tad optimistic. I'll settle for visiting places that have Mars in the place name (like Mars Hill in Flagstaff, AZ) or places that sort of look like Mars (like Mauna Kea in Hawai'i). Please post pix of me if you find a Mars-like theme backdrop.
The "Sojourner" rover was deployed by the Mars Pathfinder lander as a part of the first successful landing on the Red Planet in over 20 years. The technology used for the Pathfinder was proven again by the successful landings of the Spirit and Opportunity Mars Exploration Rovers, one of which, affectionately known as "Oppy", is still going after seven+ years and over 20 miles of driving on the martian surface.
