We dropped off the tiger cub in Las Vegas! We waited a little bit to take it over 300 miles from Sonora California. We dropped it off at BB37.
We hope with all the travelers trekking through Las Vegas, your travel bug will be picked up and carried a little farther.
We were happy to participate in your class project!

At our first travel bug hotel... We were reeled in by this class project. This sounds like a fun geography project. It seems that this Travel Bug has gone pretty far!
Now it found itself in the Foothills of the Seirra Nevadas, in gold country.

This thin band of metamorphic rock started the Gold Rush in 1849. The metamorphic rock and mineralization were created millions of years ago by an oceanic plate subducting beneath the North American Continental Plate. Little ocean islands got slammed onto the continental plate. These islands were under imense heat and pressure, creating metamorphic rock and veins of gold!

Geology catches up to human time...

Doing a big TB hotel cache trade.

I'm taking Tiger Cub to Sonora, California. Sonora is in Gold Rush country. It is known as the Queen of the Southern mines. I am posting a pic of a very large peice of gold that was taken out of mine since I have lived here.

Sonora is just north of Yosemite National Park. We have lakes, fishing streams, hunting, logging, Local mammals we see are bears, mountain lions, and big horn sheep in the high country.
