About This Item

"I am an American Soldier "

*****The Soldier's Creed:

"I am an American Soldier.

I am a Warrior and a member of a team.

I serve the people of the United States and live the Army Values.

I will always place the mission first.

I will never accept defeat.

I will never quit.

I will never leave a fallen comrade.

I am disciplined, physically and mentally tough, trained and proficient in my warrior tasks and drills.

I always maintain my arms, my equipment and myself.

I am an expert and I am a professional.

I stand ready to deploy, engage, and destroy the enemies of the United States of America in close combat.

I am a guardian of freedom and the American way of life.

I am an American Soldier."

*****David and I picked this Travel Bug mission, because of our dads. Both our dads served in the army. That's one reason why we picked our GeoCaching team name as The army-brats. We are both so proud of our dads for the sacrifice they made everyday, giving of their lives so selflessly. It takes a special person to decide to serve our country, the way the men and women of our military do everyday. Someone with great humility, pride, loyalty, discipline, honor, and love to give of themselves everyday, so we are safe. I am honored to call him dad. He is not only my dad, but he is my hero. Geocachers know my dad as Geo-Sarge. My dad served 20 years in the Army. He retired as Sergeant First Class. He served 18 Nov 74 - 1 Dec 94. My dad makes me proud everyday, I am honored to be his daughter. And it's because of him and all the men and women, before him and after him, that gave of themselves, so we can be free and safe, that I say proudly, "I am proud to be an American"!!!

*****As you pick this Travel Bug up and pass it on to another cache, please remember all those that gave everyday. Please remember all those that we have lost, as well as those that live on. Remember the many men and women that are serving our country right now, so we can be free and safe, to live everyday, honoring them, their lives, and their fight. Remember the loved ones that are at home, praying that their loved one will come home to them safely. Pray for the many men and women, that God will protect them and watch over them, and that He will bring them home safe to us.*****

Remember "All gave some, some gave all"
I am proud to be an American.
Thank you dad and all those in the military for what you did, and for what you continue to do for us.

Beautiful site. Found the cache with the 3 Sisters; retrieved "I am an American Soldier" and left pocket light. As a newbie, this was wonderful! Will find a very special place to pass it forward so it can visit more Army Bases.

I found this TB in "17K"... looks like this TB has been moved around a lot and not always logged into its caches. I'm in the Army so this was a must grab for me. I'll move it along soon.
