I received the following email from Geo Blank:
"Holding jeeps.... Rebuttle - Everyone knows that jeep tb's need to move during the contest and eveyrone also knows that after the contest is over most people will try to hold and rotate them.

If I have more than one of a color it is because I have not been able to get to a hard cache worth of a jeep drop.

I will alwasy keep one each of these jeeps and will swap if I run into another one. It is pretty standard practice.

What drives me nuts is holier than though cachers who like to post their opinions to the world instead of taking it up with the individual."

MY REBUTTLE:

Everyone knows that jeep tb's need to move during the contest and eveyrone also knows that after the contest is over most people will try to hold and rotate them.
WELL - I DIDN'T KNOW THAT MOST PEOPLE WILL TRY AND HOLD THEM AND ROTATE THEM. IN FACT MOST PEOPLE WON'T EVEN BE ABLE TO FIND A JEEP BECAUSE THERE ARE A FEW CACHERS OUT THERE THAT WILL HOLD AND AND NOT ROTATE THEM.

If I have more than one of a color it is because I have not been able to get to a hard cache worth of a jeep drop.

The printed goal of the Yellow Jeep TB is: YELLOW JEEP - Current GOAL: : Move me to another cache so I can meet another geocacher!

I DON'T SEE WHERE IT SAYS ANYTHING ABOUT A "HARD CACHE WORTH OF A JEEP DROP"

I will alwasy keep one each of these jeeps and will swap if I run into another one. It is pretty standard practice.

WHO CREATED THIS STANDARD PRACTICE? GEOCACHING. COM? HOW DO YOU EXPECT TO RUN INTO ANOTHER ONE IF MOST PEOPLE WILL HOLD THEM

What drives me nuts is holier than though cachers who like to post their opinions to the world instead of taking it up with the individual.

WELL, THIS HOLIER THAN THOUGH LIKES AN OPEN FORUM. MAYBE WE CAN GET THE OPINION OF OTHER CACHERS.

If there's anyone out there that thinks I should've have taken this up with the hoarder instead of posting it for all to see, let me know and I will apologize to the hoarder and delete all my notes on these jeeps.

The Hoarder of this Jeep has another Yellow Jeep hidden away in his bogus cache. Besides hoarding these 2 yellow jeep, he is keeping 2 whites, 1 green and 1 red all to himself. Why do think it is that Hoarders want to keep these jeeps from traveling around? The printed goal that the owner placed on these jeeps is; "Move me to another cache so I can meet another geocacher." Does anyone see a difference between a Hoarder and a Thief. Maybe a slight one. A Hoarder acknowledges that he has the jeep where a Thief will remove it from a cache without logging it. Results are the same though; The rest of us won't get a chance to see it.
