About This Item

AMTG Mt. Rushmore Benchmark Silver GC 1

Mid size coin with heft. The front of this coin has a recessed medallion of black enamel background with raised metal edge work. It shows a line drawing of Mt. Rushmore. Some of the faces would be difficult to identify if they were not seen in context. The rim has black enamel script that says "The Great Mt. Rushmore". There are two small images at the beginning and end of the writing which may be the artist's signature. The reverse has a better design that is more typical of benchmark coins. It has the beveled edge and recessed script 3-D work of a typical benchmark coin. The outer rim says "U.S. Dept. Of Agriculture-Forest Service, Mt. Rushmore". The medallion says Cadastral Survey, (T2S, R6E, S8, WG), (LS, 1771) and (MS, 1785)". The medallion also has a directional arrow. Available in other metal colors. 2006.  ------------------------------So many of my trackables have been muggled that I only release new GCs as virtuals. If you do not approve, please leave it in the cache for a cacher who understands. Thanks. Trade Box

Raided the trackable table at the 3rd Annual Baker County MoonShine run 🙂! I've discovered many landmarks are benchmarks too. Guess I should have suspected Mt. Rushmore. Only makes sense, right? Thanks for sharing AMTG!
