About This Item

This Alaska Mosquito Racer is entered in The Great Alaska Mosquito Migration Race. Alaska has more than enough mosquitoes, so we are exporting them one by one. This mosquito must keep moving or it will lay eggs in the nearest stagnant water and release a swarm of offspring that will forever haunt the cacher who hangs onto the coin for too long. To win, it must travel as far as it can from 3/1/07 to 12/01/07. Its owner will receive the spoils of victory with your help.

Geowalkabout placed it in my one Albuquerque cache, and I grabbed it when I picked up the cache for maintenance. It's tough to find a mosquito in the high desert of New Mexico! I'll place the mosquito in a cache near an acequia, so it'll have the sound of rushing water nearby for awhile. TFTGC!
