About This Item

AMTG Team JSAM GC 1

Mid to large size coin with heft. 1.75 inches 4.5 mm thick 42 grams antique gold.  150 coins minted.  Available in other metal colors.  The front is all metal and has bold 3-D work.  The medallion has nice brushed backgroun metal texture and shows the family of four sitting on an ammo can.  The rim has script that reads "search & enjoy".  The reverse has heavy clear epoxy over slight 3-D and commercial color enamel. The medallion has the state of Idaho done in commercial colors.  There is raised artwork on a commerecial "G" and inside the "G" are the initials "J, S, A and M" and "2006".  The rim has script that reads "Family of 4 caching together. 2006".  A nice personal coin.

Info on the coin:   Team JSAM, aka, Steph, Abby, and Maddy were known in cacher circles between 2006 and 2009 as the geocaching family Team JSAM from Twin Falls, Idaho. After about 4 months of working together with Elyssa from CoinsandPins, the result was presented on August 8, 2006 in the geocaching forum. The Coinicon designed Fox-and-the-Hound. With the release of the design, the pre-order phase began. The geocoin was to be released in the editions Antique Silver, Antique Gold and Black Nickel. On September 25, 2006, the 260 finished coins (including 5 additional two-tone gold/silver coins of an artist edition just for themselves) arrived at Team JSAM and were shipped to the buyers.

So many of my GCs have been muggled that I only release new ones as virtuals. If you do not approve, please leave it in the cache for a cacher who understands. Thanks. FR

Thanks to the 2023 Christmas Day blizzard my daughter, JMVonFange, was delayed in heading home so we spent the bonus time together comparing our caching statistics including trackables discovered and looking through our geocaching pictures. JM has discovered significantly more trackables that I have mainly because while we were staying home during the pandemic she spent time online and spotted numerous TBs that were being shared virtually on various social media sites like Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, etc. Thankfully, she still had a few notes that helped guide my search for the same trackables that she had already discovered. After looking at the TB page for each of the TBs that she had discovered, I found that a large number all belonged to several individuals and sent a message to them individually inquiring about permission to log their trackables. This travel bug was on the list that you shared with me.
