This coin's primary mission is to travel, travel, travel!! I would love to see this coin make its way to the Netherlands. Please keep this coin moving.
2006 Dutch Geocoin - Bronze with the Dutch flag and The Netherlands map on the heads side of the coin. On the tails side of the coin is a neat 3D relief of the famous Dutch "White Bikes". In the Netherlands, there are thousands of these bikes - all purchased by the government - all over the country. Many cities, towns, parks, nature preserves, etc. have these bikes literally parked all around. If you want to go from Point A to Point B, simply grab the nearest White Bike and go!! When you get to where you're going, just park it somewhere and leave it! Nobody steals them because doing so would be pointless. :-) Great country, the Netherlands.
I still have family there. My grandmother's family is entirely Dutch and she grew up speaking Dutch in her household - only learning English once she started school. I have great-aunts and uncles & second cousins in the Netherlands. The rest of my family is primarily German with a little Austrian sprinkled in.
